Censorship concerns in the UK.

“The new clause allows the secretary of state for business to order the blocking of “a location on the internet which the court is satisfied has been, is being or is likely to be used for or in connection with an activity that infringes copyright”.”

Freedom of speech censorship is a serious issue, and clearly judging by the comments to this article many are concerned this bill may result in censorship as opposed to just copyright protection.

But from my reading of the ammendments, the bill that passed doesn’t look that bad to me.  Not when you consider the Australian Labor party’s plan to impose a nationwide ISP filter.  But maybe I’m missing something?
