The US EPA wants you to make government propaganda for them.

This is the state of the USA these days.  Well and truly no longer the land of the free, and the current US government is making sure of that more and more every day.

Now the US EPA is holding this competition as reported by CNS News. 

“President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency is encouraging the public to create video advertisements that explain why federal regulations are “important to everyone.”
 
The contest, which ends May 17, will award $2,500 to the makers of the video that best explains why federal regulations are good and how ordinary citizens can become more involved in making regulations.”

Truly disgusting to think that tax payer money is being spent in this manner.  But I suppose for years now in Australia our various Labor and Liberal governments have spent millions upon millions of dollars promoting themselves using our money.  How is this, in principle, different to Nazi or Soviet propaganda?  Because when I am subjected to annoying government TV commercials I don’t see the difference. 

This is the world in which we live.  Next time someone tells you our economic and social problems are due to “extreme capitalism”, or too much “deregulation” they should take a look at the reality, it’s right there in front of you.  The unfortunate reality is that business regulation is considered vital and important by most people in our society.  How else could the EPA get away with this type of crap. 

There are many people in our society that are hostile to freedom and individualism.  That’s a real pity and this has to change before political and economic improvements can be enacted.
