My comment:

I wish to thank Andrew Bolt for his commentary pointing out the racist double standards in our legal system.

In our egalitarian obsessed society, the aim is equality per se, at the expense of equal rights.  Equality itself is impossible and those who attempt it always advocate the use of government force to sacrifice the rich for the poor.  This approach destroys the incentive to achieve, encourages irresponsibility and ultimately results in increased suffering for all as the virtuous are held back to the lowest common denominator.

Equal rights are the key to a healthy society, and this means equal treatment for all individuals by the law.

I am reminded of Ayn Rand’s quote:

“The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights, cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.”
